Badlands National Park With Dogs

Badlands National Park With Dogs

Because dogs are not allowed on the trails in the Badlands National Park, we wanted to find options to at least get a couple photos with the landscape with our dogs. For more information on the National Park visit their official website here.

Dogs are welcome to drive with you on the Bandlands Loop and there are a few overlooks with great views where they can snap a quick picture. Our favorite overlooks were on 240 just East of Cs36B which had a small pull off spot and also South of the Fossil Exhibit Trailhead with a pull off on the West side of the road. Along with great views we also encountered a variety of wildlife along this loop.

Also, you can walk Old NE Road which is just north of Cedar Pass. You can get some decent views here and it’s a nice way to stretch their legs. If it’s hot out, be aware there is no shade. It’s mainly just a gravel road, though, so don’t expect a hiking trail.
