Hot Springs National Park With Dogs
Hot Springs National Park is not what you might expect as the businesses and bath houses on Central Avenue are all part of the park. There are 26 miles of hiking trails which are all dog friendly! Learn more about visiting Hot Springs National Park with dogs.
Goat Rock Trail
The most popular trail is Goat Rock Trail which is around 2.5 miles round trip.
There are only 4 parking spots at the Overlook on North Mountain which is considered the main start of the trail so we’d recommend getting there early. It’s important to note that the best views are near the road and the farther you hike in you will hike down many switchbacks before eventually looping around and back out.
Goat Rock Overlook is about 0.5 miles down from the parking lot and requires a 240 foot stair climb. Overall, the trail is nicely marked.
Additionally, the promenade is a paved trail extending behind Bathhouse Row where you can catch a glimpse of several hot springs along the way.
Dog Friendly Spots in Town
When visiting Hot Springs National Park with dogs, here are some dog friendly spots in town. While dogs are allowed on all of the hiking trails, they are not allowed to tour any of the bathhouses. A few restaurant patios are dog friendly but our favorite spot is Superior Bathhouse Brewery which allows dogs inside and on the patio! Anywhere dogs are allowed inside gets two paws up in our book! Bonus: they were so excited to give us these bandanas!
In Conclusion
Overall, we love that Hot Springs National Park’s trails are all dog friendly. The addition of quite a few dog friendly patios makes this stop a nice place to bring your pup. While the views are not as majestic like some of the big name parks, sometimes you have to balance the spectacular views with the convenience of more dog friendly options like Hot Springs offers.
