Guadalupe Mountains National Park With Dogs

Guadalupe Mountains National Park With Dogs

Visiting Guadalupe Mountains National Park with dogs is not a great way to experience the park.

Short Dog Friendly Trails

Dogs are allowed to walk the short Pinery Trail which you can access from the Visitor’s Center. Additionally, there is a small trail that connects to the campground from the Visitor’s Center they can walk. When we say these trails are short, we mean SHORT.

Would We Recommend Guadalupe Mountains with your Dog?

No. 🙁

If you are in the area and want check a National Park off your list, you could stop by a few quick photos. We stayed for roughly 30 minutes. Otherwise, we would not recommend a trip to Guadalupe Mountains National Park with dogs. Compared to other not very dog friendly National Parks, this park doesn’t offer additional scenic drives which is a big deal for us traveling with dogs.

Please remember that National Park’s rules on pets are largely for the safety of your pet and preservation of the park. We just want you to know what to expect as many people do assume that dogs are allowed everywhere outside. Overall, this park is better enjoyed without your furry friend in tow.

If you are looking for a National Park to visit with your dogs, Guadalupe Mountains National Park has a lot to offer and isn’t over crowded with tourists. You can learn more about the park on their website here.
