Our Norway in a Nutshell Itinerary

After thoroughly researching our Scandinavian trip, we decided to book the Norway In A Nutshell tour. We found there’s no better way to coordinate the necessary train, bus, and ferry tickets needed from Oslo to Bergen. The tour fits our travel style with providing the necessary travel coordination and tickets while still being very self guided. Here are some of our highlights:

  • The train rides were a great way to take in the amazing scenery including a surprise waterfall stop along the way. We found ourselves constantly snapping photos along the way and going from side to side to take in the views. This is definitely not a trip to sleep through!
  • We did an overnight stay in the beautiful fjord village of Flåm. This was a great way to take in some local culture and also take our time getting through our stops.
  • While staying in Flåm we opted to add on the RIB-bout tour to Undredal. This ended up being the highlight of our trip! You can experience the fjords in a small boat with a local guide while getting close to the towering cliffs. During the tour you will also learn about the local history and culture. The stop in Undredal was a nice break and we really enjoyed tasting the local cheeses and snacks. Overall this tour was very organized and well worth it!
  • After arriving in Bergen we opted to stay for a couple nights before continuing on to Sweden. There is a major airport near the city if you have a similar route. This beautiful city has so much to see and do so we’d highly recommend spending additional time here.
